March 27, 2023

Good afternoon Madre!

That's great news! {Dylan Cook got his mission call and will be serving in the Utah, Salt Lake City mission!}  He messaged me about and said he's leaving in May! That should be way awesome! I'm super hype for him! Oh yeah I think I remember him making a meme {about missionaries being called to serve in SLC UT}LOL. He is definitely a funny guy haha.

Yooo definitely send me that new electrolyte drink! Just send it to the mission office and I should get it eventually.

That's way clutch about the shoe inserts! I got a message that I had a package and I wasn't sure what it was, but I bet that's what it was. Yeah they should prolly work, but if not I'll just send them back for sure!

I'll definitely see what I can do about a possible chiropractic appointment. Thank you for being willing to pay for it! I appreciate that mega. I have been having a wonderfully p-day and will have a wonderful week!

Love you too Mom! Have a great week!

Good day to you too Padre!
All is going great!
Padre questions:
Hopefully zone conf was nice in Ephrata.

Zone Conference was really nice and we learned a lot. After implementing some of the things we learned from zone conference we taught 16 lessons this week and previously we hadn't had more than 5! So that was really helpful for our area! We also had 5 people say they would come to church, but none of them showed. It was still nice because we haven't had anyone even agree to coming and I think a lot of these people will come eventually. We found a decent amount of new people this week and our area is definitely headed in the right direction.  We also have been working a ton with less-active members and many of them are starting to come to church. Last Sunday we had like close to 80 people at church and 35 at our ward activity! When we first showed up only about 35 people even came to church! I'm definitely not taking credit, Heavenly Father is the driving force behind everything that is happening, but it is supercool to play a small part in all of this!

I am way hyped for Easter and General Conference!

Yes I heard about Dylan Cook! Really excited for him!

Have a great week Dad! I love you!

March 20, 2023 Letter to Family&Friends

What's up friends and family! It has been quite a while since I have written, haha. As far as I can tell I haven't written one of these since December! Rather than fill you guys in on every single solitary week that I have missed, I am just going to write out a little life update on some of the really important/cool things that have been happening on my mission! Since I last wrote I have:

- been transferred to a new area
- started training a new missionary (Elder Horrocks, aka the GOAT)
- watched my friend Rodney enter the waters of baptism
- played countless hours of basketball on p-day (some of that time theoretically could have been used to write emails I guess...)
- developed life-long relationships with many people that live out here
- gained a closer relationship with Jesus Christ, and my Heavenly Father

Overall, the last couple of months have been amazing! The area I am in is Okanogan/Coulee Dam and it is awesome! Most of the towns in my area are smaller so there is a very quiet, chill vibe in this area that I honestly dig. Also it is a really pretty area and the weather has been in the 40s and 50s lately, so that has been way nice. I am still companions with Elder Horrocks. We just started our second transfer together so I get to finish his training which I am hyped for! Elder Horrocks is a dawg and mega humble and is a spiritual giant so I learn a ton from him. He has a great desire to love and serve the people here and he's also just a great friend. Fingers crossed that we get to stay companions for a 3rd transfer! Rodney is an 83 year old man who we have been meeting with for a couple of months. He was baptized March 11th and has a strong testimony of the Book of Mormon. He read the entire thing by our second visit! I feel blessed that I am able to know Rodney and have been super inspired by his example. Also he wants to take me out fishing on his boat, after the mission, and I love fishing so that's a “W”. Rodney is just one of many amazing people who I have been blessed to meet out here.

I wanted to end this email with a brief spiritual thought. The other day at church we were talking about the scriptures found in Matthew 11:28-30 which read;

28 ¶ aCome unto me, all ye that blabour and are heavy laden, and I will give you crest.

29 Take my ayoke upon you, and blearn of me; for I am cmeek and dlowly in eheart: and ye shall find frest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is aeasy, and my burden is light.

I know that if we yoke ourselves with Jesus Christ and we strive to come unto Him that our burdens will be light. We will still have hard times and we will still have burdens to bear, but with Jesus Christ's help we can overcome anything and find joy along the way. As we draw nearer to Easter I invite you all to make Jesus Christ the focus of your life and then watch for miracles to happen. I can promise you that any burdens, challenges or struggles you may face will be made lighter.

I love you all! I will write next week (or in 3 months, haha). Have a great week!

March 13, 2023

Yooo good afternoon Madre! This preparation day has been super busy, hence why I haven't responded yet haha! I'm going to call around 5pm my time, maybe a little earlier, if that works for yall?

Love,

Elder Adams

{He did call. We heard all about Rodney's baptism. Someone flew their plane in, someone was late but made it, etc. Elder Adams was able to baptize Rodney, oh, and he said that there were more people at the baptism than at church on Sundays, so that was cool.}

March 6, 2023

Good morning Madre!

That is awesome to hear about how many youth you had at your temple trip! We are lucky to get much more than 27 people at church most Sundays haha.

Holy cow Heidi really is the smartest of all the children! That's super impressive she scored [a 32 on her ACT] when she was sick and having trouble concentrating! This was her first time taking it too right?

That is great about the vinyl flooring! I bet it looks amazing! Hopefully you put Heidi to work putting in the flooring haha!

WHAT...... LETS GOOOO!!! {In response to...KEARNEY WARD IS NOW IN THE LIBERTY STAKE!!!!!! Not even kidding you. Yesterday we had a short meeting right after Sacrament mtg, and the entire Far West Presidency showed up, with the entire Liberty Stake Pres, and then they announced that Kearney Ward was transferred to the Liberty Stake.} That's actually crazy! I never thought this day would come haha! I had not heard that this had happened nor did I have any clue it was going to! That is actually really exciting news! Is Fishing River going to be in the Liberty Stake or just us? That is awesome news and I'm especially excited for Heidi! She should have a ton of fun at girls camp and being a YCL! It definitely is exciting to be a missionary in the Liberty Stake! It's funny because I know more missionaries from the Liberty Stake that are serving then I do from the Far West Stake! Also that's where I literally went to Mission Prep! Honestly, I feel like I am partially responsible for this happening, jkjk.

I will definitely have a fabulous P-day! Rodney is still on date for this Saturday! He is absolutely on fire and we are excited for the baptismal service on Saturday! The Stake president is coming up to the service and giving a talk on the Holy Ghost! Also our Mission President might come to the baptism because he has never been to a baptism in Coulee Dam! That would be awesome if he comes so we hope he is free!

My sleep is pretty good! I finally remembered to send my cheek swab for Jocelyn so if you want to let her know to look out for that though!

Love you too!

Elder Adams

p.s. I'll probably call later today!
