May 22, 2023 Letter to Family&Friends

Hello everyone, it has been a little while since I wrote an email so I figured I better write one! I don't have a ton of time, but I"ll try to fill yall in a little real quickly. I am in Ellensburg Washington now with Elder Bishop, the goat! He's from Pleasant Grove Utah and this is his second transfer. We are in a family ward and a YSA Branch. It's pretty great to be back in a YSA because I've spent more than half my mission in one. I guess President Welch likes having me in the YSA, I definitely enjoy it cause I get to meet with a lot of great people my age. Transfers are this Thursday, but I won't know if I am going or staying until tomorrow night. This area is super cool because it is a walking area and we are mainly on campus and student housing around campus. I've been able to meet tons of cool homies... they aren't always interested in the gospel, but most people are down to talk with us for a sec. Recently we got a referral for a homie named Shola (not sure if that's how you spell it), but he is the coolest person I've been able to teach on my mission! He's from Nigeria and is an international student here at CWU studying Geology. Shola is very humble and just exudes good vibes. We're meeting with him again next Saturday and he said he's pulling up to church on Sunday! Overall this area is super awesome and I hope I am staying for another transfer!

Quick lil spiritual thought:

This morning during my workout I was listening to the conference talk by Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf titled "Lift Where You Stand" and this part stood out to me: "Brethren, as strong as you are, you cannot and you should not lift a piano by yourself. Likewise, none of us can or should move the Lord’s work alone. But if we all stand close together in the place the Lord has appointed and lift where we stand, nothing can keep this divine work from moving upward and forward."

It reminded my how important the role each of us plays in the Lord's work. Everyone is needed in moving the Lord's work along... and when we all "lift where we stand" nothing can stop the work of the Lord. I would invite you all to read this talk and think about how you can "lift where you stand".

Love y'all, have a great week!

- Elder Adams
